This is on the calendar as a link to read (see below). Where do you see this in the book so far? OR DISCUSS if you still see this in today’s society.
We are starting to see satire…
-
The pathetic vanity of humans
-
The blind follows of society that can’t think for themselves
-
The way people in power separate themselves from getting their hands dirty
-
The way committees are created, but they never get anything done
-
The way humans accept simple slogans and hold value in empty awards.

These are a little challenging to read, but can you say something or explain the mini-headline? Explain what the caption is referring to.

Look at this picture and discuss one of the captions. What are they talking about? Some of them are a little hard to read because of the flash on the camera, but give it a try. Explain the caption!
Where do you see conflicts in the story already? EXPLAIN. Don’t just write “Benjamin versus everyone else – because he’s cranky.”
Do you see propaganda yet in this book? Who distributes it and for what purpose? What do you think of this? How do the listeners react?
OR DISCUSS where in modern life (today) do you see propaganda? It SURROUNDS you. Are we, as a society, aware of it? Do people fall for it??
From what you’ve read so far, do you think the rebellion in Animal Farm will work? What will cause it to succeed or fail? Explain.
This is an experiement on my part. A lot of English teachers use Blogs to discuss English topics. I thought I’d give it a try.
